Hot wax and caustic soda are used to make lino relief plates, which are then combined and overlaid to print layers of transparent colour. This is used to produce landscape-inspired images that focus on horizon lines punctuated with vertical marks.
Lino etching - A relief print using hot wax as a resist and caustic soda to etch into the lino.
Monoprint - A single print image usually transferred from a flat surface such as Perspex or acetate.
Collagraph - A print that is made by making a collage of different textures and materials. This process is an intaglio printmaking technique in which the ink is held by the different contours and edges of the materials on the plate.
